I can't say enough, how pleased I am with Dr. Cohn. He deserves the five stars. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He operated on my shoulder. and he made me feel so comfortable and not afraid to be operated on. This is the first time I can honestly say I had to write a review and give a Dr a five star rating. If you're wondering at all to see Dr. Cohn, don't hesitate.
As a practicing physical therapist of 53 years, I was extremely impressed by Dr. Cohn's surgical skills & professionalism. Three months after he repaired my severely damaged shoulder, which included my rotator cuff, proximal bicep tendon & labrum, I had 90% range of motion. I'm beginning resistance exercises on schedule & expect a full recovery in three more months as a result of his incredible care. He & his staff were very attentive with thorough explanations & responses pre & post-op. Both personally & professionally, I highly recommend Dr. Cohn.

From the first time I met Dr Cohn I knew right away he was the doctor I wanted to treat my shoulder injury. He talked to me like a person and not a patient. He made me feel very comfortable through the entire injury. From the surgery, to recovery, to the check ups. He even called me the night before my surgery to check in and make sure I wasn't nervous. The surgery itself was flawless and that is the reason my recovery has been so smooth. If there were more than five stars I would give them. I couldn't give him a high enough recommendation!
Dr. Cohn is the most caring doctor I've ever met! Honest to God! He is super nice, polite and understanding. He always treats me with respect! I love how patiently he explains the procedures to me and makes me feel comfortable and at ease. His professionalism is the best I've seen. I came out of surgery with no pain or discomfort. He personally called me several times to see how I was feeling and how I was doing. I can feel he cares for his patients, which is something I truly admire.

Dr. Cohn is an amazing surgeon. I suffered a multi-fractured shoulder injury a few months ago and am now almost 100% back to normal! Great bedside manner, easy to reach and terrific office staff as well. I cannot recommend him enough!
After fracturing my humerus, I was nervous about seeing a physician that I knew nothing about. Dr. Cohn turned out to be an amazing physician. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained my treatment plan in detail. He has a great personality and made a bad situation tolerable. The result was an excellent outcome!
Amazing experience interacting with the doctor as he diagnosed and explained options. More importantly in subsequent follow-ups when the recovery is not sufficient he suggested different Physio Therapist with his personal message to them - which is well and beyond what you expect from a doctor. I sought the expertise of Dr. Cohn for an acromioclavicular (AC) separation in my shoulder. Dr. Cohn demonstrated exceptional knowledge and an exemplary bedside manner throughout the entire process. The surgical procedure was executed flawlessly, resulting in a successful outcome. Furthermore, my recovery was remarkably smooth and devoid of any discomfort. Dr Cohn and his staff were excellent. I fractured my Radial head in my elbow and had it replaced with surgery by Dr Cohn. He did a wonderful job. I went for occupational therapy with Dave Skolnik and he was also wonderful. After 3 months, I can do everything with my elbow now. They all did a terrific job helping me get back to normal. I recommend Dr Cohn very highly. He is an excellent elbow surgeon. I am so glad he was able to do my surgery. Very caring doctor!
Dr. Cohn did an excellent job with my 15 yo's elbow surgery, has terrific bedside manner to make sure my son felt at ease before and after, and he made himself available to us via phone whenever we had questions post-op. He also went above and beyond to be there for us when my son had an unexpected skin rash reaction to the surgical adhesive to make sure we found a solution to heal it quickly. Highly recommend Dr. Cohn!

This man Saved my shoulder. I fell and broke my Glenoid. The holder to my ball joint in My shoulder. It was shattered in pieces. He put me back together and It was a special surgery because that doesn't happen often. And now months later after Surgery and physical therapy I have a fully Working shoulder with no pain. I am forever, grateful for him and his patience and knowledge.
Dr Cohn is truly a gem. So knowledgeable and more caring than I thought possible. I'm healing great because of him. Highly recommended!

Dr. Cohn performed a reverse shoulder replacement in February. The preparation leading up to my surgery was amazing. There were no surprises. He is thoughtful, approachable and a huge fan of chocolate chip cookies. I would highly recommend him.
I knew I broke my arm before I walked in the door. I had a team of specialists at the University of Vermont x-ray and tell me it was majorly screwed up and I needed surgery. I met with Dr Cohn, and within 5 minutes he had explained what happened during my accident, confirmed from my x-rays, and then immediately drew me a diagram, and explained exactly what he was going to do, and why. He was super clear about the concerns he had, the recovery time, and what to expect coming out of surgery. It all went exactly according to his plan he laid out in the first 5 minutes of meeting him. Extremely satisfied patient! I am also ahead of schedule with my physical therapy, but your results my vary. :)

Acute rotator cuff and bicep injury repaired spectacularly by Dr. Cohn. He prepares you so well for what's to come with the surgery with his written materials. All needed meds are ordered in advance and at home when you return from surgery. He is very accessible, personable and professional.
Dr Cohn has been amazing from the initial appointment to the last follow up. I had to have surgery to fix my arm. He diagnosed it pretty much immediately, the MRI was just to confirm what he already assumed. He has a great bedside manner and explained what he was going to be dealing with very clearly. He has packets on information that goes over all the details of the procedure and the recovery process. There is even an Amazon shopping list of products you can buy to make your life easier as you recover. He called my cell to personally check in on me after my surgery and answered my email quickly which I really appreciated. Highly recommend Dr Cohn, he's a great Ortho, you're in good hands in his care.
Dr. Cohn was great when seeing my daughter for a shoulder injury. He was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. I really appreciated how thorough he was and his attention to detail during the exam. He made us feel comfortable, answered all our questions, and made sure we understood the next steps. Dr. Cohn is excellent. He has a very warm and friendly personality. He patiently listened to my issues. Once he received the x-rays back, he knew exactly how to treat me. I also liked the fact that he doesn't waist time. I was in and out in no time with both my regular and follow up appointments. With his treatments I was feeling better in 2 days. So, thanks again Dr. Cohn.
I am six months postop from my shoulder surgery and I have to say that I believe my surgery was 100% successful. My entire experience with Dr Cohn and his staff was very positive and I Highly recommend him and his staff for all of your shoulder issues! I have been an ultrasound tech for 37 years and I really thought my injury would be a career ending but I came back to work at four months with very limited restrictions and now I am performing exams as if I never had an injury.
Dr Cohn performed my reverse right shoulder replacement on 3/11/25. He did a fantastic job beyond my expectations! I am 73 and had prior rotator tear surgery on my left shoulder. The replacement rehab was much less painful. So glad I had Dr Cohn perform the procedure. He is not only a very skilled surgeon, he is a great guy! He takes his time to answer all your questions, personally follows up with you after surgery and is genuinely concerned how you are progressing with your recuperation. I could not be more pleased and would highly recommend him to anyone that needs this surgery.
I first saw Dr. Cohn when I was in great pain. He had looked at my imaging before entering the room and already knew what my problem was, but he took the time to greet me with a welcoming smile, asked questions, and looked straight at me when he listened to my responses. I felt instantly comfortable in his presence. When I asked more detailed questions, he took the time to draw freehand sketches to explain the more intricate physiology. I never felt rushed. The office staff is friendly and efficient. I couldn't be happier to have found this doctor!
Dr. Cohn performed my reverse total shoulder replacement surgery three months ago. He did an excellent job. He is a very considerate doctor, always very pleasant, answers all your questions and concerns, and does not rush you into making the decision. In three months I have regained significant mobility, that too with no more pain. I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering shoulder surgery.
I was a bilateral shoulder implant patient and one of them failed. Dr. Cohn did an amazing job removing the broken implant and installing a reverse shoulder replacement. My recovery time was AMAZING! Everyone was amazed at my range of motion and fast healing progress. Unfortunately my other implant is failing as well and Dr. Cohn will of course be doing that one as well. See you in the Fall again Dr. Cohn for number 2!!
Review on behalf of my adopted mother: The office staff is kind and helpful, Dr. Cohn gave me ample time in my appointment. He reassured me of recovery which has been true and still happening under his guidance. Clean quick effective surgery, no side effects or surprises. Afterwards I'm in recovery with no pain. He still follows up to ensure a full recovery. No pain after dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff.
I was referred to Dr. Cohn by another orthopedic surgeon for my severely broken shoulder, which was completely shattered. The help that I received from Dr Cohn from beginning to end was phenomenal! Dr Cohn was not only a competent surgeon he was compassionate and kind throughout the 1 year beginning with my surgery until the very end of my last visit with him. I could not thank him enough for what he did for me during ordeal. He is definitely an asset to the medical community and I wish him the very best in his medical career.
I had an appointment for the first time today with Dr Cohn, and let me tell you, I couldn't have been more pleased with the service rendered There. Dr Cohn talked to me with the most caring respect, being I am a 90 year young senior. I was so afraid to take a steroid shot for my shoulder, but he and the nurse assured me there was nothing to fear. I left his office with some relief and he explained that the shot would take a couple of days to take effect. I will be going back. Thank God for caring Drs like Dr Cohn.
Dr Cohn was beyond helpful. The moment I walked in and did a few simple moves he knew exactly what was wrong with my shoulder and gave me clear directions on what to do next. Was over a year of being dismissed by other doctors to get to that point, so was a huge relief. Ended up having surgery with him after 1.5 years of trying other methods to heal. So glad I went with such a patient, knowledgeable physician. He spent so much time with me on each visit and made me feel heard. Now that I'm healed a little sad I don't need to see him again ;)
I wanted to share the fantastic experience I had with Dr. Matthew Cohn, who performed my left shoulder replacement surgery in December 2025. After living with significant discomfort for over 10 years, I am finally able to move freely and sleep without interruption. I tried various treatments over a decade — including massages, creams, heat, and ice — but what I truly needed was this surgery. The healing process is going exceptionally well, and I couldn't be happier with the results. If you are considering a similar procedure, I highly recommend Dr. Cohn. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
Dr. Cohn did a total replacement shoulder surgery on me. The surgery came out extremely well. I am now 3 months after and have virtually no pain. In addition, he takes time to listen to the patient and explain slowly what he suggests doing. His staff is also terrific. There is almost no waiting time at visits even though the patient has to see the nurse, the xray technician, the doctor's assistant and the doctor. They don't leave you waiting in a room forever. I highly recommend him.
My wife, an 82 year old grandmother fell and broke her arm three days after having back surgery. Dr Cohn came to her rescue and performed reconstructive surgery to her damaged arm. He is exceptionally knowledgeable with a warm personality, turning what was a nightmare into a tolerable road to recovery. We are both extremely thankful for the care he has provided.
Dr Matthew Cohn was attentive, honest, and genuinely cared. He was easy to talk to and he showed excellent patient care. I have been to two other doctors regarding my tennis elbow and they all offered invasive abs costly treatment plans. Lastly his staff was friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend!

Given the severity of my fracture, he arranged surgery promptly and fit me into an already tight schedule. From start to finish, I've felt extremely fortunate to be under Dr. Cohn's care. Beyond being an exceptional surgeon, he is attentive, approachable, and generous with his time. He never rushes a consultation and always takes the time to answer every question thoroughly. I cannot recommend Dr. Cohn highly enough to anyone considering shoulder surgery.
Fast recovery, excellence patient care staff. Minimal pain after surgery they provided effective exercises to due in lieu of physical therapy with positive results. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Matthew Cohn really helped me out when it came to my recovery and mobility of my shoulder joint, at first it was a very complex problem but, Dr. Cohn was able to treat it professionally and gave me all the right expectations and expected outcomes after my shoulder surgery. I had a shoulder replacement that got infected. Dr. Cohn cleaned out all infection and gave me a new shoulder. Three months now and I feel good. Dr. Cohn is a great surgeon! Highly recommend him!

He personally followed up the night bf my mother's surgery to answer any potential questions and reassure her she was in great hands..her job- was a good night sleep- he had the rest.

Dr Cohn was magnificent! I had a massive rotator tear as well as a biceps tear..surgery went great and my shoulder healed ahead of schedule, with no restrictions! I would recommend Dr Cohn to everyone who needs a great ortho, especially for the shoulder!!! I would go to noone else!!

Saw Dr Cohn for a shoulder injury. He couldn't have been more professional, soooo kind, and knowledgeable! X-rays, physical exam done so smoothly. Knew exactly what the diagnosis was and plan- cortisone shot. He knew exactly what to do and the correct spot for injection. My pain level is at 0 now! Highly recommend him!!!
Five stars is not enough to give to Dr. Cohn, a very skilled surgeon. I had a total reverse shoulder replacement six months ago after a terrible fall. From my first visit with Dr. Cohn, he was clear and concise when explaining the procedure and recovery. His calm demeanor was comforting, not to mention the personal phone calls from him prior to and following my surgery. Additionally, as his last case of the day, even though it was late at night, he took a considerable amount of time explaining to my husband the entire procedure and exactly what he did during surgery. The surgery was a complete success and has brought me back to my normal, routine activities, including gym workouts with weights. Dr. Cohn is a talented, top-notch surgeon. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of requiring surgery, Dr. Cohn is the doctor you want and I highly recommend him without reservation.
Dr Matthew Cohn was truly amazing on my shoulder surgery. I broke 3 bones in my shoulder skiing. I did not need a shoulder replacement. He was there for me every step of the way with encouragement and was there for me if I had any question before and after surgery. 12 weeks of rehab my shoulder is back as new full motion and strength. I can't thank you enough Dr Cohn.
